TNV5N220 Is Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 OTN Line Board
Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 OTN Line Board TNV5N220 Overview
TNV5N220: 20 x 10 Gbit/s Line Service Processing Board
When ports on a TNV5N220 board are used as line port (line mode) , the TNV5N220 board performs the following conversions: 160 x ODU0/160 x ODUflex/80 x ODU1/20 x ODU2<->20 x OTU2/20 x ODU2e<->20 x OTU2e. Each port on the TNV5N220 board supports a mix of ODU0, ODU1, and ODUflex signals.
The N220 board consists of a WDM-side optical module, signal processing module, control and communication module, and power supply module.
In addition to logical ports on the N220 board, this topic describes how the physical ports on the board are displayed on the NMS.
This topic describes the N220 board parameters that can be set or queried using the NMS.
Functions and Features of the TNV5N220 Board
Function and Feature |
Description |

The total backplane bandwidth is 200 Gbit/s. |
WDM specification |
Supports the DWDM specifications. |
Tunable wavelength |
Supports tunable wavelength optical modules that provide for 80 wavelengths tunable in the C band with 50 GHz channel spacing. |
FEC coding |
FEC,AFEC-2 |
Line modulation format |
NRZ |
OTN overhead protocol |
Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing defined by ITU-T G.709. |

Intra-board 1+1 protection |
Supported NOTE: Supports intra-board 1+1 protection when working with optical protection boards. |
ODUk SNCP |
Supported |
Tributary SNCP |
Supported |
Electrical-layer ASON |
Supported |
Optical-layer ASON |
Supported |
Physical clock |
Not supported |
IEEE 1588v2 |
Not supported |
Outband DCN |
Supports communication over ESCs. |
Test frame |
Not supported |
PRBS |
Supports the PRBS function on the WDM side. |
Latency measurement |
The board supports latency measurement in the WDM-side optical port direction (upstream direction). When higher-order cross-connections are created on the line board, TCM section latency measurement is supported for higher-order channels. When lower-order ODUk cross-connections are created on the line board, PM/TCM section latency measurement is supported for higher-order channels, and TCM section latency measurement is supported for lower-order ODUk channels. |
Channel loopback |
ODUk (k=0, 1, flex) channel loopbacks |
Port loopback |
Supports WDM Side Loopback. |
Alarm and performance event monitoring |
