TNV3T404C21: 4 x 100GE Tributary Service Processing Board

 

The available functional version of the T404 board is TNV3.

 

As an OTN tributary board, the T404 board implements conversion between four 100GE/OTU4 optical signals and four ODU4/ODUflex electrical signals.

 

The T404 board supports electrical cross-connections and OTN ports.

 

The T404 board consists of the client-side optical module(s), signal processing module, control and communication module, and power supply module.

Description

Basic functions

Supports the following service conversions:

  • 4 x 100GE (Bit Transparent Mapping/(MAC Transparent Mapping))<->4 x ODU4
  • 4 x 100GE (MAC Transparent Mapping)<->4 x ODUflex
  • 4 x OTU4<->4 x ODU4

Service encryption

Supports setting the encryption function by port.

NOTE:

When receiving OTU4 services on the client side, the board does not support the encryption.

Client-side service type

100GE: Ethernet service at a rate of 103.125 Gbit/s

OTU4: OTN service at a rate of 111.81 Gbit/s

Cross-connect capabilities

Supports backplane cross-connections of four ODU4/ODUflex signals from/to the cross-connect board.

OTN functions

  • Supports ITU-T G.709 and G.Sup43-compliant mapping processing, and the frame format and overhead processing defined in ITU-T G.709.
  • ODUflex layer: Supports PM overhead processing.
  • ODU4 layer:
    • Supports PM overhead processing when 100GE services are received on the client side.
    • Supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads when OTU4 services are received on the client side.
  • OTU4 layer: Supports SM overhead processing.

ESC function

Supported when OTU4 services are received on the client side.

PRBS test function

Supported.

NOTE:

When the TNV3T404 board receives OTU4 services, the PRBS test function is supported in both the optical port direction and the backplane direction. When the board receives 100GE services, the PRBS test function is supported only in the backplane direction.

LPT function

Not supported.

Alarm and performance event monitoring

  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Provides remote monitoring (RMON) of the Ethernet service.

ALS function

Supported when 100GE services are received on the client side.

Test frame

Supported when 100GE services are received on the client side.

Delay measurement

When non-OTN services are received on the client side of the board, the PM section latency measurement is supported in the backplane direction (upstream direction). When OTN services are received on the client side of the board, the TCM section latency measurement is supported in the optical port direction (downstream direction).

IEEE 1588v2

Supported when 100GE(GFP-F) services are received on the client side.

ITU-T G.8275.1

Supported when 100GE(GFP-F) services are received on the client side.

ITU-T G.8273.2

NOTE:

  • When the matching system control board is U2CTU, the board does not support ITU-T G.8273.2.
  • TNV3T404 board supports this function when receiving 100GE(GFP-F) services on the client side.

Physical-layer clock

  • Bit Transparent Mapping ODU4: Supports synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission.
  • MAC Transparent Mapping ODU4: Supports synchronous Ethernet processing.

Electrical-layer ASON

Supported.

FEC coding

Supports ITU-T G.709-compliant forward error correction (FEC) on the client side.

When the TNV3T404 board uses a converter to receive 100GE services, only RSFEC coding is supported.

NOTE:

Boards that use different FEC modes cannot interconnect with each other.

Protection scheme

  • Supports ODUk SNCP (k=4, flex) protection.
  • Supports client 1+1 protection.
  • Supports tributary SNCP protection.

NOTE:

Supports tributary SNCP protection only when OTU4 services are received on the client side.

When the client-side uses CFP2-100G(10x10G)-850nm(SR10)-MPO-MMF-0.1km, QSFP28-100G(4x25G)-850nm(SR4)-MPO-MMF-0.1km or QSFP28-100G(4x25G)-1271 to 1331nm(CLR4)-SMF-2km optical modules, the TNV3T404 board does not support client 1+1 protection.
