TNU5N404 Is Huawei OSN 9800 OTN 100G Line Board
Huawei OSN 9800 100G Line Board TNU5N404 Overview
N404: 4 x 100 Gbit/s Line Service Processing Board
The available functional versions of the N404 board are: TNU4 and TNU5.
As an OTN line board, the N404 board converts 320 ODU0, 160 ODU1, 40 ODU2, 40 ODU2e, 8 ODU3, 4 ODU4, or 320 ODUflex signals into 4 OTU4 signals carried over 4 ITU-T G.694.1 compliant DWDM wavelength, and vice versa. Each port on the board supports a mix of ODU0, ODU1, ODU2/ODU2e, ODU3, and ODUflex signals. When using colored light modules, the TNU5N404 board can be used in coherent systems.
The THU5N404 board supports electrical cross-connections, OTN interfaces, and ESC communication.
The N404 board consists of a WDM-side optical module, signal processing module, control and communication module, and power supply module.
Only the TNU5N404 board with the colored light optical modules supports the regeneration.
The N404 board electrically regenerates four OTU4 optical signals carried over four ITU-T G.694.1 compliant DWDM wavelengths.
The optical receiver on the WDM-side optical module receives four OTU4 optical signals through the IN1-IN4 optical interfaces and converts them into four OTU4 electrical signals.
The OTN processing module performs FEC decoding, overhead processing, and FEC encoding, which is the process of reshaping, regenerating, and retiming the four OTU4 electrical signals and digitally wrapping them into OTN frames.
The OTN-framed OTU4 electrical signals are sent to the optical transmitter on the WDM-side optical module. After performing E/O conversion, the transmitter produces and sends four OTU4 optical signals carried over four ITU-T G.694.1 compliant DWDM wavelengths out the OUT1-OUT4 optical interfaces.
There are indicators and interfaces on the front panel of the N404 board.
The N404 board requires one slot in a U64/U32/U16 subrack. The N404 board requires two slots in an M24 subrack.
In addition to logical ports on the N404 board, this topic describes how the physical ports on the board are displayed on the NMS.
Dimensions of the front panel (H x W x D): 477.3 mm (18.8 in.) x 30.5 mm (1.2 in.) x 220.0 mm (8.7 in.)
Weight:
TNU4N404: 4.52 kg (9.96 lb.)
TNU5N404: 4.53 kg (9.98 lb.)

|||||
WDM specification |
Supports ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM specifications. |
|||||
Tunable wavelength function |
Supports tunable wavelength optical modules that provide for 80 wavelengths tunable in the C band with 50 GHz channel spacing. TNU5N404 supports tunable wavelength optical modules that provide for 96 wavelengths tunable in the extended C band with 50 GHz channel spacing. |
|||||
ESC function |
Supported |
|||||
PRBS function |
Supports the PRBS function on the WDM side. |
|||||
FEC coding |
NOTE: Boards that use different FEC modes cannot interconnect with each other. |
|||||
Alarms and performance events monitoring |
|
|||||
Regeneration board |
NOTE: When using the gray light optical modules, TNU5N404 does not support the regeneration. |
|||||
Latency measurement |
The TNU5N404 board supports latency measurement in the WDM-side optical port direction (upstream direction). When higher-order ODU4 cross-connections are created on the line board, TCM section latency measurement is supported for higher-order ODU4 channels. When lower-order ODUk cross-connections are created on the line board, PM/TCM section latency measurement is supported for higher-order ODU4 channels, and TCM section latency measurement is supported for lower-order ODUk channels. |
