The available functional versions of the CTU board are TNU1 and TNS1.
The TNS1CTU board is a system control board. On an NE, the TNS1CTU board interoperates with the U2000 to manage other boards and implements communication with another NE. The TNS1CTU board also provides an ITU-T G.813 and ITU-T G.823 compliant clock signal for each service board on the NE.
The TNS1CTU board implements system communication, provides a clock source for system communication, and supports 1+1 redundancy (active/standby backup).
The TNS1CTU board consists of an overhead processing module, clock module, monitoring module, communication module, CPU and control module, and power supply module.
There are indicators, buttons, and interfaces on the front panel of the TNS1CTU board.
The TNS1CTU board is a single-width board (requiring one slot). CTU boards must be fully configured in each subrack. That is, each subrack requires two CTU boards.
The TNS1CTU board has a battery jumper and a BIOS DIP switch.
