The SCA is available in one functional version, namely, TNN1.

The SCA is the system control and auxiliary processing board. The SCA works with the network management system (NMS) to manage the boards on the equipment and achieve the communication between different pieces of equipment.

The SCA performs the synchronous equipment management function (SEMF) and message communication function (MCF), and processes protocol packets.

The SCA consists of the system control module, system communication module, auxiliary processing module, and power module.

Function and Feature	SCA
Basic functions	Performs the service configuration function and service grooming function, monitors the service performance, and collects information about performance events and alarms.
Interfaces	Provides the 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface, which is used for communicating with the NMS. Provides the F&f interface, which is used for OAM management.
DCC communication	Processes a maximum of 160 DCCs (D1-D3). In this manner, the link is provided for transmitting the NM information.
Clock function	Provides the real-time clock (RTC). Supports high-precision clock synchronization and complies with IEEE 1588v2. Time information is received at interface CLK/TOD on a PSXCS board.
