TNG3WSMD9: 9-port wavelength selective multiplexer and demultiplexer board (Extended C-band)

The TNG3WSMD9 board has only one variant: TNG3WSMD901.

The TNG3WSMD9 board can be used with the optical demultiplexer board, optical multiplexer board, or optical add/drop multiplexer board to implement wavelength grooming on DWDM nodes. TNG3WSMD9 supports extended C-band.

By default, only 4 AM/DM ports of a board can be used. To use the remaining 5 AM/DM ports, you must configure one "WSDM9 Dimensions RTU(Right for more than 4 dimensions)" RTU. The occupancy of a port indicates that optical cross-connections are configured on the port.

There are indicators, interfaces, and a laser hazard level label on the front panel of the WSMD9 board.

As a ROADM unit, the WSMD9 board is used with optical multiplexer boards, optical demultiplexer boards, or other OADM boards to perform wavelength grooming at DWDM network nodes.

Functions and Features of the TNG3WSMD9 Board

Function and Feature	Description
Basic function	Implements optical-layer service grooming for multiple wavelengths, and support contentionless. Wavelength adding: Adds any wavelengths from any directions through ports AM1 to AM9 and outputs the wavelengths through the OUT port. Wavelength dropping: Broadcasts the main optical channel signals received through the IN port to ports DM1 to DM9.
WDM specification	Supports the DWDM specifications.
Spectrum application	Supports extended C-band wavelengths. Supports flexible grid wavelength signals. The channel spacing is n x slice. (The minimum slice is 6.25 GHz. The value of n ranges from 6 to 64. That is, a single channel is adjustable within the range of 37.5 GHz to 400 GHz.)
