TNG2AST2: Two-Bidirectional optical supervisory channel and timing transmission unit

The TNG2AST2 board has only one variant: TNG2AST2.

The TNG2AST2 board can be used with the 9800 M05 subrack.

The TNG2AST2 board newly supports the optical ASON function in super C-band.

The TNG2AST2 board supports eSFP-155M-TX1511/RX1491nm(OTDR2.0)-SMF-150km-(1504.5-1515nm) optical modules in 120-channel Raman scenarios.

As an OSC board, the AST2 board processes two channels of supervisory signals, transmits and extracts the overhead information about the system, processes and sends the overhead information to the system control board. In addition, the AST2 board can process the IEEE 1588v2 protocol for time synchronization. The AST2 board also supports line fiber quality monitoring.

The AST2 board consists of the optical receiving module, service processing module, 1588 module, optical transmitting module, control and communication module, and power supply module.

Basic function

Receives, processes, and transmits two optical supervisory signals.
The OSC has no limitation on the distance between two optical line amplifiers. The failure of an optical line amplifier does not affect the performance of the OSC.
The board is independent of the system control board. When the system control board is not properly installed, the AST2 board can still ensure the pass-through of ECC at optical ports 1 and 2 and monitor other stations.
