TNG1M402: 2 x 100Gbit/s Service Multiplexing Into 1 x 200G/100G Programable Wavelength Conversion Board

 

The M402 board is a wavelength conversion board and applies to coherent systems. In the receive direction, the M402 board receives four types of signals on the client side, which are 4 x 10GE, 40GE, OTU4 and 100GE, maps these optical signals into an OTUC2 or OTU4 signal, and converts the OTUC2 or OTU4 signal into a standard WDM wavelength.

 

The M402 board consists of the client-side optical module, WDM-side optical module, signal processing module, control and communication module, and power supply module.

 

 

 

Functions and Features of the TNG1M402 Board (OTU)

 

Function and Feature

Description

Basic function

The board can convert client-side services into OTU signals,the client-side service supports hybrid transmission of different services, for details about the service types, number of channels, and mapping paths supported by different ports, see Applications.

Client-side service type

  • 100GE: Ethernet service at a rate of 103.125 Gbit/s
  • OTU4: OTN service at a rate of 111.81 Gbit/s

Service mapping mode

100GE service: Supports Bit Transparent Mapping ODU4, MAC Transparent Mapping ODU4, and MAC Transparent Mapping ODUFlex.

WDM specification

Supports the DWDM specifications.

Tunable wavelength

Supports tunable wavelengths of WDM-side optical signals in Super C band (1524 nm to 1573 nm).

FEC coding

On the client side:

  • Supports forward error correction (FEC) when the client-side service type is OTU4.
  • Supports RS_FEC coding when the client-side service type is 100GE.

On the WDM side:

  • CFP-100G(4x25G/28G,Dualrate)-1295nm to 1310nm(LR4)-SMF-10km-SP modules: Supports forward error correction (FEC).
  • Other modules: Supports SDFEC2 and SDFEC coding.

Line modulation format

  • 100G mode: Supports NRZ, 100G QPSK and 100G QPSK wDCM.
  • 200G mode: Supports 200G 16QAM, 200G 16QAM-H, and 200G e16QAM.

Typical channel spacing

  • 200G e16QAM: 50GHz+n*6.25GHz(n=0,1,2...)
  • 100G QPSK/100G QPSK wDCM/200G 16QAM/200G 16QAM-H: 50GHz*n(n=1,2...)(Only the standard center frequency of 50 GHz is supported.)

OTN overhead

  • ODU4 layer:
    • Supports PM overhead processing when 100GE services are received on the client side. Non-intrusive monitoring of PM overheads in WDM side is not supported.
    • Supports PM and TCM overhead processing when OTU4 services are received on the client side. This board supports non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.
  • ODUflex layer: supports PM overhead processing.
  • ODUC2 layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing.
  • Supports SM overhead processing at the OTU4 layer on the client side.
  • Supports SM overhead processing at the OTUC2 and OTU4 layer on the WDM side.

L1 service encryption

NOTE:

After the encryption function is configured, the WDM-side rate of the board cannot be switched, but the modulation formats of the same rate can be switched.

Digital optical label

When LS Ability is enabled, the board supports loading low-frequency pilot-tone modulation signals and overheads during wavelength conversion, and can work the optical-layer board that supports the digital optical label function to detect optical power and overheads and report optical performance data.

ALS

Supports the ALS function on the client side when client services are non-OTN services.

LLDP

Supports the LLDP function when the client-side service is 100GE.

NOTE:

When the service mapping mode is MAC transparent mapping, the LLDP mode of the port is the Receive mode by default. In this case, LLDP packets are not transparently transmitted.

  • Synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission is supported in bit transparent mapping mode(100G).
  • Synchronous Ethernet processing is supported in MAC transparent mapping mode(100G).
