Huawei OSN 8800 51AST2 Board TN51AST2 Overview
TN51AST2: Bidirectional optical supervisory channel and timing transmission unit (with Advanced OTDR).
The available functional version of the AST2 board is: TN51.
As an OSC board, the TN51AST2 board processes two channels of supervisory signals in opposite directions, transmits and extracts the overhead information about the system, processes and sends the overhead information to the system control board. In addition, the AST2 board can process the IEEE 1588v2 protocol for time synchronization. The TN51AST2 board also supports transparent transmission of two channels of FE electrical signals and line fiber quality monitoring.
The TN51AST2 board is mainly used to process and regenerate optical supervisory signals. In addition, the TN51AST2 board supports 1588v2 and line fiber quality monitoring.
The TN51AST2 board consists of the optical receiving module, service processing module, 1588 module, optical transmitting module, control and communication module, and power supply module.
There are indicators and interfaces on the front panel of the TN51AST2 board.
One slot houses one TN51AST2 board.

Supports physical clock function. Supports a maximum of 37.5 dB transmission. (Not including the loss of the FIU boards.) NOTE: The online fiber quality monitoring and clock synchronization functions (including physical clock, IEEE 1588v2, and ITU-T 8275.1) can be enabled only when the TN51AST2 board works with the TN13STG clock board. If the TN51AST2 board works with other clock boards, the online fiber detection function will cause the clock synchronization signal to fail. NOTE: The IEEE 1588v2 function is not supported by TN51AST2 boards in slots 3 and 4 in a universal platform subrack. |
Technical features |
The OSC has no limitation on the distance between two optical line amplifiers. The failure of an optical line amplifier does not affect the performance of the OSC. The TN51AST2 board is independent of the system control board. When the system control board is not properly installed, the TN51AST2 board can still ensure the pass-through of ECC with the two optical interfaces and monitor other stations. |
Regeneration function |
The TN51AST2 board transmits signals from section to section. It also has the 3R function. In each regenerating station that has optical amplifiers, information can be correctly received and new supervisory signals are added. |
Operating wavelength |
When the TN51AST2 board works with the SFIU board, it is recommended that the working wavelength of the TM1 be 1511nm and the working wavelength of the TM2 be 1491nm. When the TN51AST2 board works with the FIU board, the supervisory channel signal wavelength is 1511 nm. |
