TN16WMU: wavelength monitoring unit
The TN16WMU board has only one functional version: TN16.
The TN16WMU can be created as WMU on the NMS. The former can substitute for the latter, without any software upgrade. After the substitution, the TN16WMU board functions as the TN11WMU board.
When universal platform subrack is used as a master subrack, TN16WMU board cannot be installed in slots IU1 and IU2. Therefore, if a TN11WMU board is installed in slot IU1 or IU2 and the universal platform subrack is used as a master subrack, the TN16WMU board cannot substitute for the TN11WMU board.
The TN16WMU board monitors wavelengths with 50 GHz/100 GHz channel spacing in a WDM system.
The TN16WMU board supports the centralized monitoring of wavelengths with 50/100 GHz channel spacing for OTUs at the transmit end in a WDM system.
The TN16WMU board consists of a 1x2 optical switch, wavelength monitoring module, control and communication module, and power supply module.
