Huawei OSN 8800 AST2 Board TN11AST2 Overview
TN11AST2: Bidirectional optical supervisory channel and timing transmission unit (with Advanced OTDR).
The available functional version of the AST2 board is: TN11.
As an OSC board, the TN11AST2 board processes two channels of supervisory signals in opposite directions, transmits and extracts the overhead information about the system, processes and sends the overhead information to the SCC. In addition, the TN11AST2 board can process the IEEE 1588v2 protocol for time synchronization.
The TN11AST2 board also supports transparent transmission of two channels of FE electrical signals and line fiber quality monitoring.
The TN11AST2 board is mainly used to process and regenerate optical supervisory signals.
In addition, the TN11AST2 board supports the IEEE 1588v2 function. In addition, the TN11AST2 board supports 1588v2 and line fiber quality monitoring.
The TN11AST2 board consists of the optical receiving module, service processing module, EOW module, 1588 module, optical transmitting module, control and communication module, and power supply module.

Supports physical clock function. Supports a maximum of 37.5 dB transmission. (Not including the loss of the FIU or SFIU board). NOTE: The online fiber quality monitoring and clock synchronization functions (including physical clock and IEEE 1588v2) can be enabled only when the AST2 board works with the TN13STG clock board. If the AST2 board works with other clock boards, the online fiber detection function will cause the clock synchronization signal to fail. NOTE: When the AST2 board is used with the STG board in an OptiX OSN 8800 universal platform subrack, the board can process physical clock signals and IEEE 1588v2. In this case, the AST2 board cannot be inserted into the IU3 or IU4 slot of the OptiX OSN 8800 universal platform subrack. |
Technical features |
The OSC has no limitation on the distance between two optical line amplifiers. The failure of an optical line amplifier does not affect the performance of the OSC. The AST2 board is independent of the SCC. When the SCC is not properly installed, the AST2 board can still ensure the pass-through of ECC with the two optical interfaces and monitor other stations. |
Regeneration function |
The AST2 board transmits signals from section to section. It also has the 3R function. In each regenerating station that has optical amplifiers, information can be correctly received and new supervisory signals are added. |
Operating wavelength |
When the AST2 board works with the SFIU board, it is recommended that the working wavelength of the TM1 be 1511nm and the working wavelength of the TM2 be 1491nm. When the AST2 board works with the FIU board, the supervisory channel signal wavelength is 1511 nm. |
