TN52DAP Is Huawei OSN 9800 DAP Board
DAP: Extended C-band optical amplifier board with 2 pluggable ports.
The DAP board has only one functional version: TN52.
The DAP board is a dual-channel pluggable optical amplifier board that amplifies optical signals. The DAP board can be used at either the transmit end or the receive end.
The precautions for the TN52DAP board usage are as follows:
The two pluggable EDFA modules on the TN52DAP base board are used for the transmission and receiving of the same direction (wavelength adding/dropping, or a line direction). They cannot be used for different directions.
The TN52DAP board mainly applies to wavelength adding and dropping without OSC. Therefore, the DAP+FIU networking is not recommended.
The TN52DAP board supports interconnection with 80-wavelength boards. Once an 80-wavelength board is present in an OMS section, the OMS section supports only 80 wavelengths.
In various protection scenarios, if the OA+FIU configuration is a multiple of the minimum unit shown in Figure 14-307, the TN52DAPXF board is recommended for networking.
In various protection scenarios, if the OA+FIU configuration cannot match the minimum unit shown in Figure 14-307, the TN52DAP board is recommended for networking.
The DAP board provides the optical amplification function. The DAP board supports gain adjustment, in-service monitoring of optical performance, gain locking, and transient state control.
The DAP board consists of VOAs, EDFA modules, an optical power detection module, a control and communication module, and a power supply module.
There are indicators, ports, and a laser hazard level label on the front panel of the DAP board.
The DAP board is a single-width board (requiring one slot).

Basic functions |
|
Optical Amplifier Module |
Supports dual pluggable optical amplifier modules TN52OACE101/TN52OACE105/TN52OACE106/TN52OACE107/TN52OACE108/TN51OACE106/TN51OACE107. |
Gain adjustment |
TN52OACE101: Continually adjusts the gain from 20 dB to 31 dB based on the input signal power TN52OACE105: Continually adjusts the gain from 23 dB to 32 dB based on the input signal power TN51OACE106/TN52OACE106: Continually adjusts the gain from 13 dB to 23 dB based on the input signal power. TN51OACE107/TN52OACE107: Continually adjusts the gain from 17 dB to 25 dB based on the input signal power. TN52OACE108: Continually adjusts the gain from 8 dB to 14 dB based on the input signal power. |
In-service optical performance monitoring |
Each optical amplifier unit provides an in-service monitoring port. This port connects to an optical spectrum analyzer or spectrum analyzer unit to monitor the signal power performance without affecting traffic. |
Gain locking |
The EDFA has the gain locking function. When this function is enabled, adding or dropping one or more channels or signal power fluctuation inside some channels does not affect the signal gain of other channels. |
Working mode |
Supports the gain locking, power locking and APC modes.
|
Transient state control |
The EDFA inside the board has the transient state control function. When channels are added or dropped, the board can suppress the power fluctuation inside the signal channels to support smooth upgrades and expansions. |
