MCA4: 4-port spectrum analyzer unit

The available functional version of the MCA4 board is TN11.

As a spectrum analyzer unit, the MCA4 board provides four ports. Each the port supports spectrum analysis for up to 80 wavelengths.

The MCA4 board is used for spectrum analysis and power detection, and supports the APE function.

The MCA4 board consists of a 1x4 optical switch, spectrum analysis module, driver and control module, control and communication module, and power supply module.

There are indicators and interfaces on the front panel of the MCA4 board.

The MCA4 board is a double-width board (requiring two slots).

Function and Feature

Function and Feature	Description
Basic function	Provides four ports, each of which supports spectrum analysis for up to 80 wavelengths.
Detection function	Monitors the following information of C-band signals with a fixed channel spacing and reports the information to the SCC board. The following information can be displayed on the NMS. Optical power of each wavelength Central wavelength Number of wavelengths on the main channel The TN11MCA4 board can interoperate with the Optical Doctor management system license. When the Optical Doctor management system license is used, the TN11MCA4 board supports OSNR detection for 10 Gbit/s, 40 Gbit/s, 100 Gbit/s, 200 Gbit/s, and 400 Gbit/s (dual-carrier) signals. When neither the Port OSNR detection license (OD V1) nor the Optical Doctor management system license is used, the OSNR detection function has the following restrictions: When the MCA4 board is configured on the MON port of a filter board (such as the M40 or D40 board) or an FOADM/ROADM site exists in the system, OSNR detection is not supported. If 40 Gbit/s or higher rate wavelengths are deployed in the system, there are the following restrictions: OSNR monitoring is not supported if adjacent channels have a 50 GHz spacing. OSNR monitoring is supported only for 10 Gbit/s or lower rate wavelengths if the channel spacing is 100 GHz. NOTE: If power deviation is more than 6 dB between the minimum-power wavelength and the maximum-power wavelength, the MCA4 board may mistake the minimum-power wavelength as noise and drop it. OSNR monitoring and power monitoring are not supported for Turbo WDM boards. NOTE: The range of modulation formats supported by a spectrum analyzer board varies depending on the software version of the spectrum analyzer module. For example, some spectrum analyzer boards may fail to identify the 200G ePDM-e16QAM modulation format. APE function	Supports power detection when the board is configured as a power detection unit in an APE pair.
